How do I contact the assistants before I make my final bid award?

If the assistant hasn't made a bid, you can leave a message on the Public Message Board for the task so that every assistant can see it for bidding equality.

If the assistant has made a bid, you can message the user by selecting My Stuff > Getting Stuff Done > and clicking the 'Talk' envelope to the right of the posted task name.
